EET 2.0 in your software before live operation starts

For smaller software companies and vendors of industry-specific apps that need to add sales registration quickly. And for businesses that need to connect EET to their online shop or booking system.

What you are dealing with

Customers ask whether your software can handle it

The shops and venues using your system must register sales from January. If your app cannot do it, they start looking for another one or buy a second device just for EET.

Your development team has a full backlog

The SOAP interface, certificates, offline mode and retries are weeks of work. Your roadmap has no room for them before the end of the year.

It is unclear which parts of the documentation apply

The Czech Financial Administration has published a WSDL, an XML schema, an interface description and a certificate policy. Working through them and mapping them to your own data model takes time you do not have.

What the Registration of Sales Act requires

The Czech Chamber of Deputies passed Act No. 180/2026 Coll., on the Registration of Sales, on 9 September 2026, and it takes effect on 1 January 2027. Every in-person payment must be registered, meaning any payment made in personal contact with the customer. This is not limited to cash: it includes cards, QR payments, crypto-assets, cheques, meal vouchers and gift vouchers. Remote payments (online payment gateway, bank transfer against an invoice without personal contact) are generally not registered.

The data is sent to the Financial Administration (the Czech tax authority) online in real time. The business sets a maximum response time of at least 2 seconds. If the system exceeds it (an outage), the data must be sent without delay, at the latest within 48 hours of receiving the payment. Individual items and VAT rates are not registered, and receipts do not have to be printed.

Less than three months separate the publication of the Act and its entry into force. For software vendors that is a short window: the integration needs to be tested before their customers start using it.

What a software vendor needs to solve technically

The Financial Administration has published the following for developers:

  • SOAP interface – WSDL (EETServiceSOAP.wsdl) and XML schema (EETXMLSchema.xsd), interface description version 1.2,
  • CA EET certificates – the certificate policy and the procedure for requesting and installing certificates,
  • JWT API package plus access and operating information,
  • Playground – a test environment where you can try sending data without affecting live records.

In practice this means managing certificates for each customer, sending in real time, a queue for outages, retries and tracking the status of every sales record. These are exactly the parts we deliver as a module.

Who EET applies to, exemptions and penalties

The obligation applies to businesses, both individuals and legal entities, with business income. Exemptions include the state, municipalities, publicly funded organisations, banks and insurers, and selected activities such as scheduled public transport, energy and vending machines. Self-employed individuals in the first band of the flat-rate tax regime with income up to CZK 1,000,000 in the previous year can choose the EET OFF mode for a surcharge of CZK 1,400 per month; limited liability companies (s.r.o.) cannot.

Serious obstruction of registration or failure to send the data can lead to a fine of up to CZK 500,000. Supervision lies with the Financial Administration, and the Customs Administration can also carry out inspections. Not sure where you stand? Try the EET 2.0 self-check.

What you get

  • A white-label sales registration module with its own API that your product calls
  • Connection to the Financial Administration's EET 2.0 interface (SOAP) and certificate handling

How it works

  1. Week 1

    Initial consultation and analysis

We go through your product and the payment and venue types it serves, and agree whether we integrate the module or your team does.

  2. Weeks 2–3

    Building and connecting the module

We build the module, connect it to your data model and set up certificate handling and the interface for your app.

  3. Weeks 3–4

    Testing in Playground

We verify sending, error states and outages in the Financial Administration's test environment.

  4. December 2026 – January 2027

    Deployment and pilot operation

We deploy to production, go through the January 2027 pilot phase with your first customers and fine-tune operation.

  5. Ongoing, monthly

    Operation and maintenance

We track changes to the documentation and interface, update the module and handle incidents.

Who it is for

  • Vendors of booking systems and fitness or salon software
  • Developers of smaller POS and invoicing apps
  • Software companies that do not want to build and maintain EET themselves
  • Businesses with their own online shop or booking system where customers also pay in person

Who it is not for

  • Small businesses for which the free government app MOJE eet is enough
  • Companies looking only for an off-the-shelf cash register without integration
  • Shops that accept remote payments only (online payment gateway, invoice paid without personal contact)

Why work with us

All development in one pair of hands

Analysis, architecture, development and operation are led by one person. You do not have to coordinate an analyst, developers and an operations team separately.

Experience leading teams and as CTO

We work well with your development team, can take over part of the work and hand it back in a state your team can maintain.

Faster delivery with AI-assisted development

We develop with tools such as Claude Code. Routine parts get done faster, which leaves more time for testing and edge cases.

EET 2.0: checklist for software vendors and businesses. What a POS software vendor needs to do by 1 January 2027, and what a business that takes payments from customers in person needs to do. Two separate checklists based on Act No. 180/2026 Coll. and the Financial Administration's timeline.

Frequently asked questions

When does EET 2.0 take effect?

Act No. 180/2026 Coll. takes effect on 1 January 2027. According to the Financial Administration, sales registration will run in a pilot mode during January 2027.

Do card and QR code payments have to be registered?

Yes, every in-person payment must be registered regardless of method, including cash, cards, QR payments, meal vouchers and gift vouchers. Remote payments through an online payment gateway or by bank transfer against an invoice without personal contact are generally not registered.

Does the receipt have to list items and VAT rates?

No, according to the Financial Administration you do not register details of the goods or services or the VAT rates, and receipts do not have to be printed.

What happens if the Financial Administration or the internet is unavailable?

The sales data must then be sent without delay, at the latest within 48 hours of receiving the payment. The module therefore keeps a queue of unsent records and sends them automatically.

When can businesses generate their certificate?

According to the Financial Administration's timeline, from 1 November 2026 in the MOJE daně portal (the Czech online tax portal). The MOJE eet web app launches on 1 December 2026.

Can we integrate the module ourselves?

Yes, the module has an API and documentation, so your team can do the integration. We then take care of the connection to the Financial Administration, testing and operation.

How long does the integration take?

We plan 3–4 weeks from the initial consultation to testing in Playground, depending on how complex your product is. We give you an exact plan after the first meeting.
