Services · Excel to app

We turn your spreadsheets into an app that does not break

For companies that run stock, orders or attendance in Excel and are outgrowing their spreadsheets.

What you are dealing with

Which version of the spreadsheet is the right one?

The file is passed around by email, everyone has a different copy and in the end nobody knows the actual state.

One wrong formula and the numbers are off

Someone overwrites a cell or deletes a row. The error shows up weeks later and takes a long time to trace.

The spreadsheet cannot do what operations need

There are no permissions, approvals, notifications or mobile access. Another sheet and another macro only make things worse.

Example use cases

The following examples describe typical situations, not specific clients.

  • Stock: goods in and out, stock levels across several locations, alerts for items running low. Instead of a spreadsheet one person updates every morning, everyone sees the current state in real time.
  • Orders: an overview of orders from enquiry to invoicing, who is working on what, deadlines and status. Sales and production see the same data.
  • Attendance: recording arrivals, departures and absences, approving holidays and preparing payroll inputs without retyping.
  • Approvals: purchase requests, expenses or contracts. Who requests, who approves, in what order, with a history of decisions.

What changes compared to a spreadsheet

Each user sees only what they need and can change only what belongs to them. Every change has an author and a timestamp. The data is in one place and nobody works with an old copy. Calculations that formulas guard today are guarded by the application and cannot be overwritten by mistake.

The application does not have to do everything from day one. We start with a first version that covers the main process and add features based on what people in operations actually need. Maintenance makes sure the application runs, the data is backed up and minor changes do not wait for months. The data remains yours and you can export it at any time.

If your spreadsheet contains extensive VBA macros or depends on an older database, this may be more of a legacy system rescue. We will tell the difference at the first consultation.

What you get

  • Review of your current spreadsheets and how people actually work with them
  • Web application with login, roles and permissions
  • Data transfer from the spreadsheets into the application
  • Change history showing who changed what
  • Exports to Excel wherever you still need them
  • User training and a short guide
  • Monthly maintenance, backups and minor changes

How it works

  1. week 1

    Spreadsheet review

We go through the files, formulas and procedures to find out who works with the data and what they are missing.

  2. week 2

    Application design

We prepare a design of the screens and the scope of the first version for your approval.

  3. weeks 3–6

    Build and data transfer

We build the application, transfer the data and show it to future users along the way.

  4. from launch, monthly

    Launch and maintenance

We train users, go live and keep maintaining the application.

Who it is for

  • Companies that run their operations in shared spreadsheets
  • Teams where several people work on one file at the same time
  • Approval processes that currently run over email
  • Companies whose way of working does not fit off-the-shelf software

Who it is not for

  • Simple spreadsheets used by one person
  • Areas where existing off-the-shelf software is good enough for you
  • Companies looking to replace their entire accounting or ERP system

Why work with us

From review to operations in one pair of hands

Michal Czerník manages the full SDLC, including operations. The application does not get abandoned after launch, because the person who built it also maintains it.

Faster build with AI

With AI-assisted development in Claude Code, an internal application takes weeks, not months. That leaves more time to make it fit the way you work.

Experience with business processes

Experience leading teams and in the CTO role helps separate the real process from habits that came from the spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

Why not stay with Excel?

Excel works well for one person and one-off calculations. With shared data and several users, it lacks permissions, change history and certainty that everyone works with the same version.

How long does it take to build the application?

A typical first version takes a matter of weeks. You get an exact schedule after we review your spreadsheets.

Can I still export data to Excel?

Yes, we add Excel exports wherever you need them. You can keep doing analyses and reports as before.

What does monthly maintenance include?

Maintenance covers hosting and operation, backups, updates and minor changes. The scope is agreed in advance.

Can the application be connected to our accounting system?

Yes, a connection to your accounting system can be added. You will find details under our ERP connectors service for Czech accounting systems.

Will the application work on mobile?

Yes, the application runs in a web browser and works on mobile too. Nothing needs to be installed.
